The March No-Show + 1 month til 25

Okay. Awkward. Sorry I have yet again been absent!

Life sometimes just takes over completely. I’ve not even posted in my new fitness blog (my bad) but I’ve missed posting here. I’m not going to make any promises that I will be SUPER UBER regular with my posts because I can’t promise that; but I will say that I will try to post as regularly as I can!

Anyway, I thought I’d take a moment to go over my 25 before 25 list, as I’m basically a month out from my birthday now and I know I won’t have reached all of my goals!

- Read 50 new books (25/50) I’ve totally lost track of this number, however I am pretty sure that it’s going to be close to 50. I’d estimate I’ve read at least 10 books since I last updated, so I just need to blast through some in the next month. Shouldn’t be too hard as I’ve got lots of YA fiction on my to-read pile.

- Re-read Harry Potter 1-7 This isn’t going to happen, but I’ll pick up at least the first three and have a go!

- Lose some weight I’m going to optimistically strike this one off the list as complete! I purposefully didn’t put an amount on it and since I’ve been logging/actively exercising/weighing myself this year, I’ve lost nearly half a stone so yep, definitely done!

- Dye my hair blonde/ginger I’m going to change my goal posts to DONE. I haven’t dyed my hair, BUT I have chopped most of it off (and may be going shorter, say what!?) so I’d consider that a drastic enough change to be equivalent to the blonde/ginger!

- Get a tattoo This won’t be complete, not by my 25th anyway! But I will leave it on my 26 before 26 list maybe?

- Repierce my helix Yep, done!

- Run/Walk/Jog/Dance 5k Again, going to cheekily cross this one off. The Race for Life 5K is in June BUT I’m sure my first 5K training run will be before my birthday, and regardless; it’s just one month out.

- Finish writing my novel Pretty sure this won’t be finished! I will however endeavor to get some more of it written and keep it on the list for next year!

- Visit Edinburgh Nope. Not getting North of the border in the next month. Boo.

- Have at least £500 saved DONE! Granted it’s saved for my holiday in the summer, but it’s still saved! Grown up times, yay!

- See the Northern Lights Again- nope. Won’t happen in the next month. Boo 😦

- Have afternoon tea This may happen in the next couple of weeks whilst my mum and I are off work for Easter.

- Buy a corset I’m waiting to lose a bit more weight before I make this purchase, so nope.

- Go on a date Yep… Definitely done!

- (Begin to) Learn a new language Yes! I’m slowly learning French thanks to Duolingo (also Danish and Irish Gaelic… but I’m focusing on the French).

- Apply for PGCEs or PhDs Start my training in September!

- Treat my mum to something (weekend in Manchester in Dec) Yep!

- Go on a trip by myself (doesn’t have to be far away or overnight) Probably won’t get anywhere by myself before my birthday now.

- Throw a dinner party No, haven’t got round to it- not without cheating, anyway!

- See 10 new movies (10/10) Done! Some good ones in there, including one of my new favourites (Guardians of the Galaxy, anyone??)

- Visit a gallery Mum and I went to the National and were thoroughly disappointed, for we are uncivilized cretins!

- See Shakespeare on stage Comedy of Errors, was fantastic!

- Learn to play the guitar Nope!

- Take my Grade 8 cello exam This was insanely ambitious, so no!

- Write (and perform?) a song This would have been easier had I learnt to play the guitar, or had the opportunity for performance, so no: incomplete!

So, 14/25 either definitely or soon-to-be completed. That’s not bad, over half done… granted I’d have liked to have done 20 at the least (if not all!) but life takes some funny turns sometimes. Better start thinking about the 26 things I’d like to do before I turn 26!
