Yes chaps! I’m finally back! Did you miss me? I bet you did.
Just humour me. Thanks.
Summer was amazing and somehow both empty and ridiculously busy at the same time. And I’ve been back at work for two weeks and they’ve been so busy, with about a million hours of overtime (not quite but there was a lot of overtime) and I’ve had so many things on and seriously, I neglected my little corner of the internet. And I’m sorry.
First, some life updates. And then I will bring you many, many photos and the promise of more.
Life Update #1 I am going to be applying for PGCE courses in about two months. Okay I already mentioned that buuut you know… Official bla bla bla.
Life Update #2 I’ve ticked off a few more things on my 25 before 25 list, one of which is pretty exciting. But I won’t speak too much about that because I don’t know how the person feels about it (ooooh vague)
I’m sure I had more Life Updates for you but I can’t think of any more. So two. Two updates, ah ah ah.
Now for photos.
I went to Camden a few times in the holiday, obviously. I also decided that purple is my new favourite colour of lipstick, even more than red (the shock!) and so Illamasqua Kontrol is on permanent rotation. I also bought ESP and Posture from the flagship store off Carnaby Street, but I need to practice with them and a lip brush because they are SO dry and require so much upkeep. I will perservere though because when the lovely guy at the shop applied ESP to my lips I fell in instant LIPSTICK LOVE.
Also this bat necklace is new, from Alchemy Gothic, and is one of my new favourites. I bought two necklaces from Bloodstock this year, this and another one from Extreme Largeness which is three perspex bats in flight on a purple chain and is also stunning, but this one sits in just the right place and is massive and I love it. AND ALSO obviously I’m wearing MAC Violetta often, too. I recently bought MAC Magenta lipliner and it looks amazing, obviously totally different to Nightmoth under this but Magenta just helps amplify the purpleness of Violetta.
Another shot from that day, to show off my epic eyeliner skills (clearly) and new favourite blush, Lover from Illamasqua. Got it in the sale for a stupid price and it’s the most perfect peachy colour for my complexion.
And here’s a ‘First Day Back’ selfie, haha. I had minimal make up on this day because I hadn’t yet washed my brushes (I know, I know, such a skank). You can see the joy in my eyes for being back at work.
And here is a selfie I took to show my makeup when I went to a charity clothes swap event with my mum. I quickly shoved on some more makeup over the top of what I already had on for work and changed in about five minutes because she dropped it on me at the last minute. I’m rather scandalously wearing my see-through tunic top from Primark and a bright turquoise bra, but that’s me all over. And I have a new found confidence anyway (See Life Update #2 for more vague details) so I was like ‘yeah fashion look at my boobs yeah’. I have my current favourite foundation (back to Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow in Believe In Me Ivory, I love the coverage and the effect) and some new make up, including two new shades in my MAC palette (All That Glitters and Woodwinked) and my latest MAC lipstick, Please Me. I LOVE IT.
Speaking of the clothes swap, it wasn’t too successful for me. I found a black and red checked scarf that is JUST what I have been looking for in preparation for the colder months, and an awesome quirky semi-Goth Russianesque velvet jacket, which I am wearing here with a dress I styled with a green patent belt and a new favourite necklace, a big chunky gold pentagram (or ‘Pagan Star’, lol) from New Look of all places. New Look, your new one-stop shop for occult paraphenalia!
Apologies for the picture quality but I was trying to show off the detailing. It has leather piping all the way around the hem/neckline and cuffs, and leather patterns on the bottom. My boyfriend (SECRETS GIVEN AWAY) thinks they look like doves. It’s a bit small across the shoulders but I actually think I like this outfit. Finished with my fake Docs, I think this could be a go-to Autumn to Winter outfit!
Anyway… I will be back soon, if not tomorrow. That’s a promise, my Smauglings! I’m testing out a new name for my readers, comments on a postcard!
