What I Wore Wednesday #4

I feel like I’m falling into a bit of a beauty rut. Either that or I’ve just found some products that are perfect for me. Not sure which it is, and not sure which one would be better. I almost hope it isn’t that I have inadvertently stumbled across my ever-longed for Holy Grail products because I have a drawerful of makeup to use!

Anyway, I digress. Today was a bit of a weird, in-between sort of day. I had chores to do, but they had big gaps in between, so I had to get dressed but I didn’t have to get dressed, if that makes any sense at all. Which I’m not sure it does. I know what I mean, sometimes that’s all that matters!

One of these days, my WIWW post will include an interesting, awesome, avant-garde or uber goth sort of outfit, I promise! I felt a bit risque today, though. I’m wearing a long-line vest from Primark that’s sort of a load sheerer than I thought it would be; I guess you could describe it as being a ‘burn-out’ vest? I think that’s the correct term for it. I teamed it with my reliable old favourite, my open front cardigan from New Look and my super comfy camouflage leggings from Primark. When/if these babies fall apart, I will feel really sad! By the way, please excuse the bag full of rubbish currently in my hallway. I’d just emptied the waste bin in my bedroom and completely forgot it was in shot!

I was feeling like it was a very, very good skin day today. I don’t know whether that’s because my current cleanser is really working, or because my SuperStay Better Skin is fulfilling it’s promises. Either way, I felt like trying out my face with just a dusting of my usual Matte Maker powder today. I think it worked fairly well!

I teamed this minimal base-thing with just a light dusting of MUA Mosaic Bronzer in Natural Glow for a little definition and all over a bit of warmth, and I think I actually really liked the way it worked. DEFINITELY only for super good skin days, though! I then decided to streamline the rest of my face (as much as possible…) so I finished with five more products:

  • Soap & Glory Thick & Fast High Definition Collagen mascara- this might, might be heading into Holy Grail territory for sure, I just need to keep testing against other ones to make absolutely certain
  • Soap & Glory Supercat eyeliner
  • Maybelline Browdrama Sculpting mascara in Medium Brown
  • Collection Work the Colour eyeshadow pencil in Hot Chocolate
  • Maybelline Coloursens Nude Lipstick in Honey Beige

You have to work quite quickly with the Collection pencil, but I really like the effect it gave just smudged over my lid. I’m guessing it’ll work really well as a base, and I’m glad I added this one to my collection- I already have Vintage Blush and Midnight Glam- but I don’t think I’ll be in any rush to get any of the other shades, simply because I don’t think I need them. Good God, maybe I’m finally gaining some restraint?! Anyway, I like the slightly paired back look I had going on with the ol’ visage today. I still definitely like the obviously made up look, but for basic chore days when I want to put something on my face I’ll have to remember this set up.
