Today was an impromptu sort of day. I didn’t plan on doing anything bar mooch about in my pajamas (Marvel superheroes ones, as per) and help my brother through the first few hours of Dragon Age: Origins gameplay. His character is called Joe’eth, because it’s Joe but medieval, FYI.
However, when I was lunching on a bowl of tomato and veggie soup, my parents came tumbling back through the gate with the dogs in tow, home from their weekend in Devon with my paternal grandparents. My mum immediately asked ‘fancy going into town for an hour?’ and I scrambled back up the stairs to thrown on some clothes and shove a bit of makeup on the old visage.
These were the products I chucked on today. Okay, it wasn’t really ‘haphazard chucking on’ at all. I used my new Soap & Glory Show Good Face foundation again- I kind of like it, the way it evens my complexion is pretty impressive for such a light coverage product and I don’t need to use much for my whole face, but it’s a bit expensive in my opinion (£11 for 30ml, though having just checked my beloved SuperStay Better Skin is £9 for the same amount, so maybe it’s not quite as expensive as I thought?). I set this with Maybelline Matte Maker- of course- and then used a mixture of old faithfuls and new favourites for the rest of the face:
- MUA Mosaic Bronzer in Natural Glow for a bit of a contour and to add definition to my chubby cheeks
- MAC Sheertone Blush in Pinch Me
- My usual brow wardrobe of L’Oreal Superliner Brow Artist in Dark Brunette and Maybelline Browdrama
- MUA Dusk Til Dawn palette
- Soap & Glory Supercat liner
- Soap & Glory Thick & Fast High Definition Collagen Coat mascara
- Barry M Lipliner in 2
- Soap & Glory Supercolour Fabulipstick Powdercoat in Pom Pom
Can I please just express my love for the lipstick? This photo does not do the shade justice by any means, but it is the most gorgeous pinky-red, and gives a perfect finish. ‘Powder coat’ is a really good way to describe it, because it’s an almost powdery matte formula but velvety soft and so comfortable on my lips.
My eyeshadow was a bit more of a ‘no makeup’ look than I intended, but it was quite good in the end. And can I just say, either I’ve finally discovered some amazing, foolproof eyelining products or I have become a much more proficient liner user in recent years? Just LOOK at that application. Even if I do say so myself, that is a pretty precise line. I’m very proud!
I bought a small number lovely things in town, I may or may not do a haul post at the weekend as the mother and myself are planning a naughty shopping trip sans the males as it is payday on Friday and we are eyeing up a few higher end makeup purchases- House of Fraser, here we come! I’m batting my eyelashes in the direction of Benefit’s Rockateur box o’powder, and Urban Decay’s new liner collection. Mmmm… shiny.
