So I missed one or two of these, but I explained why so it’s all good in the hood! I’ve been listening to my usual selection of erry’thang this past week, again proving to myself that my taste in music is a little mental but that’s okay. It takes aaaall kinds.
1- Turisas- Ten More Miles
Another Turisas song, but I’m pretty sure Turisas are my all time favourite band EVER so it’s okay. I’ve only just got their last album Turisas2013- GOD knows why it always takes me so long to buy their tunes- and I wasn’t disappointed. This song just makes me happy, especially the chorus of ‘Who will be there when the skies turn grey? TURIIIISAS, YOU CAN COUNT ON US’ it just makes me feel all smiley and like I have a bunch of crazy Finns on my side. And when is that ever a bad thing?
2- Fleetwood Mac- The Chain
I’ve really, really gotten into Fleetwood Mac recently. Stevie Nicks is a goddess anyway- naturally- but their music has been ‘speaking to me’ of late. Haha, how bad does that sound? Oh deary me, walking cliche right here!
3- The Pretty Reckless- Going to Hell
The Pretty Reckless are fast becoming one of my most-listened to bands. I love their irreverent, grungey vibe and Taylor Momsen is actually pretty awesome. This track has a snarling, sleazy quality that I can’t get enough of.
4- Helalyn Flowers- I’m Human, Defective
This has been a perfect working out song this week. I’ve started a new routine where I go downstairs and do all the lifting of the heavy things first, and then go upstairs and do my cardio- I’m led to believe this is the way you’re meant to do it? Anyway, this has meant that I’ve been cardio-ing with my music on, rather than plugging into the TV built in to the monitors of the cross trainer, bike or whatever else I’m using, and it’s been nice to listen to good tunes while I work myself into a sweaty mess…
5- Kate Bush- Cloudbusting
I love a bit of Kate Bush. I really, truly do. I’ve had her greatest hits on in my car more times than I can count recently and I feel sorry for anyone that has walked past my car and been able to hear as I wail along. Cloudbusting is just a beautiful song.
