So… hi, guys. I’ve been MIA for the past few weeks. I can totally explain, though. I have been battling with a nasty chest and cough that still hasn’t gone away but has made me so exhausted I can’t even tell you. I’ve also been without a phone, after misplacing it for the best part of a week, and without my phone there is no blog as my trusty (though can a phone be trusty after less than two months? Answers on a postcard!) Galaxy 4S is my camera until I can get a decent digi-cam (or batteries for the passable one I have).
So, there will be a plethora of posts over the next day or so. I hope to get back into the swing of things properly, though!
As for nowwwww, I bring you: THE BIRTHDAY BLOG! A bit late as my birthday was on the 1st of May but still, I want to share my birthday funnage with you!
PLEASE NOTE– I am not bragging. In any way, shape or form. I just like sharing things with you all! And trust me- the presents I got? Amazing!
This year was a bit of a frugal one, but I still got some absolutely amazing things from the family and friends. I woke up on the Thursday morning with a small but perfectly formed assortment of goodies on the dining room table, and had to be a grown up (AGAIN) and wait til everyone got back from work to open them all. Although it wasn’t so bad this year as I had work to go to, too! Quick note to whoever’s listening- work on your birthday? Who thought THAT was okay!? I will have serious words!
I got two bears for the superhero costumes I already have, so I am pleased to announce that Thor, Bear of Thunder and Captain Abearica have joined their comrades BatWolf and Bear Vader. I also collect the big Disney plush toys, and after completing my Beauty and the Beast collection at Christmas have decided that I will next collect the Seven Dwarves. Well, I only have one left to get now as my brother and parents got me Dopey and Doc! Hoorah!
I also got the Real Techniques Starter Set- the whole blogosphere knows that Real Techniques are some of the best brushes on the market, and after loving the ones I already have (the Core set and a couple of singles) have been coveting this lot for a while now. Finishing the birthday pile are two sets of earrings from my bestest friend and the Catching Fire DVD!
I got a little bit of birthday money, too, which I spent on three beautiful, cloth-cover editions of The Lord of the Rings. Collecting different editions of LOTR (especially and including The Hobbit) is something I’ve been doing for a little while, now, and I picked up the matching cloth-cover edition of The Hobbit for a discounted price in The Works a while back, but I’m also hoping to make these the first in a collection of cloth- and hard-cover copies of different books. My mind is very much on SOMEDAY SOON (hopefully?) having a little hovel I can call my own, but who knows when that will be? God, I love being a graduate in this economic climate…
I had a fab birthday, finished on the Saturday with a meal at Chimichanga’s in Amersham. Normally, I can’t fault this place but that night we were waiting sooooooo long for our table, after making a half-eight reservation it was closer to nine until we were sat down. Not good! The food was amazing though, as always, and I certainly enjoyed my Chimichanga Fizz (shared with my mum- ahem!). On the old visage, I wore some lovely makeups!
I believe I wore my current default base (Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin + Maybelline The Matte Maker) and my MAC blusher in Pinch Me, MAC Viva Glam III (SUCH a gorgeous, almost vintage berry shade, who said berry is just for winter?) and shades from my Urban Decay Glinda Palette on the eyes. I should have written it aaaaaaaaall down on the night, dangit! Also my earrings are cool, doncha think? Primark, where else!
