Okay, so technically it is now Tuesday, but I have had a very busy day today, so hopefully you will all forgive me for the late upload!
This is the first in my new series of Music Mondays, where I basically post five of the songs I’m loving the most at the moment. I will warn you in advance; my musical tastes are quite eclectic and a load of it is probably not the sort of thing most people would listen to! Anyway, let’s get started.
1. Lolita- Lana Del Rey
This one is from the ‘Paradise’ extended edition of Born To Die, and it’s ridiculously catchy. Lana Del Rey was one of those artists that it took me a while to get into but now I am properly hooked. I really like her whole vibe and her sound, to me, is really cinematic. This song is a bit different from the others on the album- dare I say, a bit quirky- and is one of my favourites.
2. The Birthday Massacre- In The Dark
The Birthday Massacre have been one of my most-liked bands for a good few years now- I’m going to hazard a guess and quantify ‘a good few’ as being eight. In The Dark is the surprisingly heavy lead single from their album Pins and Needles and is one of my favourites of theirs overall, but I’ve been listening to it a lot recently.
3. Turisas- The March of the Varangian Guard
Turisas are probably in my top 5 all time favourite bands. I just love them, I can’t get over their sound or Mathias Nygard’s voice (or his face, yes please). This is the first track from their album Stand Up And Fight and I’ve been listening to it lots this past week.
4. Ellie Goulding- Burn
I’ve never really listened to a lot of Ellie Goulding, but this track was on a running compilation I got and I can’t stop listening to it. I love the way it cycles round and the general sound, so I might have to try some more of her stuff.
5. King Diamond- Welcome Home
This is my current ringtone, and it’s a blooming classic. Can’t beat a bit of King!
Do you listen to any of the bands I’ve mentioned this week? What’s been your most listened to song?
