Spending Ban Day #8- ‘Shopping the Stash’

So, here’s a quick run down of all of the products I’ve chosen for myself for this week.

I think I have a good range of different products for the picking, here!

Maybe I should have stuck to the big palette, but I need to feel like I’ve got lots of choice- and, if I’m honest, the MUA shadows are much better quality! I chose the ELF 32-colour palette in Everyday, which has a nice range of colours including some brights, and 3 MUA shadows: 2 Pearl shades (30 and 12) and 1 Matte (17). Shade 12 may be one of my favourite eyeshadows of all time- it’s MUA’s infamous MAC Club dupe, a lovely taupe with a reddy-brown duo chrome. It’s just beautiful.

For face-that’s-not-base (ah, I’m a poet and I don’t know it!) products, I’ve chosen MUA’s Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighting powder, Benefit’s Sugarbomb face powder and ELF’s Studio Bronzer in Golden. Undress Your Skin is a new product, as is the ELF bronzer, and both seem quite promising! Sugarbomb is an old favourite, but I haven’t used it much recently.

As for ‘proper face’ products, I’ve picked MUA Pressed Powder in Shade 1, Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse in 004 Light Porcelain, and Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel concealer stick. The concealer is something I found and had completely forgotten I even had it- I don’t think it comes in a range of colours, but it seems quite slippery and creamy so I’ll let you know what I think!

Final picks are a mixture of old, new, not-sure-abouts and firm favourites! I have the ELF Long Wear Lip Liner pencil in Natural Blush- it’s a nudey pink sort of colour, but if it’s like the pencil in Bitten that I have it will be blendable and lovely. Then we have Boots 17 Lasting Fix Lipstick in Showbiz- a classic, bright red- and MUA’s basic lip gloss in Shade 3- which is much more pigmented than I first expected, and is a true-to-tube biscuity nude colour. I don’t know why I’ve not photographed it here, but I actually have another lipstick to use this week- Sleek’s True Colour Lipstick in Naked, which is a cool, tan-nude colour. It’s lovely and moisturising and I’ve not used it for ages! For my eyes, I chose ELF’s Cream Eyeliner in black -not my favourite product, but still reasonable for the price- and ELF’s shimmer eyeliner pencil in Black Bandit. Mascara wise, I’ve plumped for one of my favourites, Boots 17 Blow Out mascara- Volumise, Sculpt, Tease apparently!- in Black. I can’t remember if it’s waterproof, but as it doesn’t say it anywhere on the tube I’ll guess that it isn’t.

So yes! A nice selection, I think. I’m looking forward to seeing how everything does!
