Daily Look #14 + Spending Ban Day #9

Quick update on the ol’ spending ban before I show you today’s outfit. I’m finding it easier than I thought I would- famous last words, eh? There are lots of things I’ve seen, online and in shops, that I think ‘Oh! That’s nice!’ but I make a mental note to put it on my list, or pin it to a Pinterest board. I know, I know- I may have ‘cheated’ a bit last week, and my mum bought me a couple of pieces the other day, but as far as my spending is going, it’s actually pretty good. I’m going to pay a chunk off of my credit card tomorrow, and then pay the rest of my earnings so far into my main account. Hopefully these next couple of months continue to go this well!

I didn’t actually stay in this outfit for the whole day, haha. I needed to get dressed to take my brother to the gym, but when I got home I couldn’t be bothered so I swapped the jeggings for my pajama bottoms… it was a good look, I almost photographed that as well! I also changed into a dark t-shirt when I went swimming this evening. No one wants to see me in a wet t-shirt, I can guarantee you!

I should have made sure that the t-shirt was centred before I took the photo, d’oh! Anyway, I am wearing a white t-shirt- the £6 Matalan ‘#GEEK’ t-shirt, to be precise. The other day shorts, today a white t-shirt. I have no idea what’s come over me! The leopard print cardigan is from Collectif- one of both my mum and myself’s favourite brands. It’s so lovely and soft, incredibly generously sized, and good to throw over both a casual or a dressier outfit. It comes with a black rose corsage, but I unpinned that for today. I’m also wearing a pair of black jeggings, also from Matalan, that I fished out of my drawer because my vastly superior (in terms of fit and comfort) pair of black Gok Wan for TU jeggings are no longer black! Finishing the look are my black skull and crucifix plimsolls from New Look.

This is to show my make up, but also how insanely volumized my hair is at the moment! I’ve been using Soap & Glory’s Glad Hair Day shampoo and intensive conditioner for the past two weeks or so. I’ve yet to make up my mind as to whether or not I actually like it- my hair feels almost tacky and dry, which is definitely not what it promised to do- but I don’t know whether that’s because I’ve been using a different brand for so long it still needs time to settle down. Make up wise, I’m using a selection from this week’s pick- Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse, Boots Tea tree & Witch Hazel concealer, Benefit Sugarbomb, MUA Shade 12 eyeshadow on my lid by itself, and then Boots 17 Blow Out mascara and ELF shimmer pencil in Black Bandit. Nice and natural, with a little bit of extra oomph on my eyes. I’ve been applying the Dream Matte Mousse with a flat foundation brush, and I’ve found it actually needs a minimal amount of blending. Pretty impressed with the formula- I must have loved it when I first got it because I don’t have that much left in the pot!

That’s it for today. I’ll be honest and say I am absolutely knackered; I’m aiming to swim every day for the next three days, and whilst it’s an amazing work out and one of the few exercise-related things I actually enjoy, it doesn’t half take it out of you! I might do a bit of a ‘what’s in my gym bag’ post, because I actually take a few products with me to combat what swimming does to my body and face. I’ve always suffered from a mini-reaction to chlorine, that (coupled with being out of breath) colours my face a lovely shade of purpley red, and dries out the skin on my face and body. Stay tuned for that, fat fashion fans!
