March Favourites + Hello Followers!

So I’ve just returned from the local pub quiz; because it’s the last of the month, it was a Music Quiz. Not only did my team win the quiz (free round next time we’re there, woo!) but I won the landlord’s question! Got my spending ban saving off to a great start as that’s £40 in the bank! Yay!

Anyway, here’s the second part of my favourites and empties- the faves!

Favourites

Please ignore the Bonjela…

A little overview of my favourites for this month. There are probably a few too many in there, but I tried to think- what are the things I’ve been reaching for the most this month? I tried to include something from each sort of ‘category’. I will talk now about Soap & Glory’s The Righteous Butter as I forgot to take another photo of it! It’s £10 for 500ml but a little bit goes a long way. It smells incredible and it feels so nice on the skin; it’s not at all greasy, and it sinks in really easily, leaving your skin smooth and soft and altogether moisturised. This was a Christmas present and I use it more or less every day.

Face Favourites

ELF Mineral Primer, MaxFactor Creme Puff in Truly Fair, Benefit Sugarbomb, ELF All-over colour stick in Apricot Beige

These are the face products I’ve been using the most this month. My ELF primer, as I mentioned in my previous post, is all used up now, but this is a really great product. Smooth and velvety and it leaves your skin silky soft and the perfect canvas for foundation. Creme Puff is something I’ve been using for years, and I use this both on its own over the top of moisturiser or primer, or to set a liquid foundation- especially if the colour isn’t a fantastic match for my skin tone (as often happens!).  Benefit’s Sugarbomb is just a great blusher to sweep across the cheeks- a swirl of a big, fluffy blush brush in all four of the shades gives me the perfect mix of depth and shades. The ELF All-over colour stick is actually a really good product! I use it on ‘can’t be bothered days’ blended across blemishes using the ELF Studio flawless concealer brush, and also as a concealer underneath foundation. I was worried it would be too dark, but it’s a fantastic match.

Eye Favourites

MUA Undressed Palette, Benefit  Bad gal Waterproof liner pencil, Elizabeth Arden Colour Intrigue gel eyeliner in black,  Boots 17 Blow Out Mascara

These are definitely my most-used products this month! I’ve been loving my Urban Decay Glinda palette, but hands down this is what I’ve used most of all. The MUA Undressed palette probably needs no introductions- we all know how great it is as a cheaper alternative to the Naked palette. Also, being a blue-eyed gal, these neutrals are perfect for my eyes. They’re smooth, blendable and insanely pigmented for £4! The Benefit Bad gal liner pencil is the perfect thing to smudge along the lash line- it’s super soft and doesn’t drag at all; the built in smudging sponge is really good as well. I picked up the Elizabeth Arden gel liner for a stupid price in TK Maxx a couple of years ago, but it stayed in my collection pretty much unused until very recently. Thanks to Rimmel’s Glam Eyes gel liner, I got the hang of applying a liner with a brush, and this quickly became my go-to product. The ELF cream liner is a good cheap alternative, but this one is just brilliant; it doesn’t smudge, it’s pigmented, it’s generally wonderful to apply on the top lashline and get a precise flick. Boots 17 Blow Out mascara is great; it doesn’t clump, I think it volumizes my lashes, and it lasts a long, long time. A great all-round mascara!

Lip and Nail Favourites

ELF nail polish in Rosy Raisin, Urban Decay Super Saturated Lip Colour in Glinda/Naked

This is actually the wrong polish, haha! I meant to pick up Red Velvet- Rosy Raisin is nice, but I actually have been loving Red Velvet more. It’s a lovely, almost metallic red and it looks great on the nails. The ELF polishes do chip a bit, but with a top coat that’s not a problem at all. Good for the price, at any rate! The lip colour is a MLBB shade and I love it- it’s moisturising, so the ‘super saturated’ part is definitely true, and it gives my lips a lovely glossy sheen. I got this lip colour with the Glinda palette, but I am definitely putting a couple more of them onto my birthday list.

So these are my favourites for March! What have your favourites been? Do you like any of the products I featured? Let me know, Fat Fashion Fans!
