Haulage

Today was a shopping day. Well, it wasn’t necessarily a shopping day. It should have been ‘finish my reading of Wace and Laȝamon’s Brut and make notes on the books I got out of the library‘ day (which I did later) but it turned into shopping day.

It started fairly ordinary, if a little disappointing- my fortnightly weigh in showed that whilst I haven’t gained any weight, I haven’t lost any either. Trying to see it from a ‘swings and roundabouts’ sort of perspective, but that’s proving only partially successful.

Moving on- we went into Uxbridge to have a mooch and grab some lunch in Wetherspoon’s. Spurred on by my weigh in, I opted for a ‘super food salad’ with salmon, which came in at ~30g of fat and 470 cals. It was actually quite nice, and surprisingly filling. Good job, Spoons! My mother and I were on a mission- to find a boyfriend cardigan for myself, and to buy her a non waterproof Badgal mascara, as the waterproof one is too thick for her mature lashes! We went into a number of shops, including Monsoon which has eternally lovely but expensive clothes and will be the source of a post in the near future.

Clothing wise, my mission was partially successful. What was exciting was trying on these lovely jeggings in New Look…

and finding that they fit! I’m so ridiculously chuffed with that, as New Look leggings are notorious for being a little small, and these were made from a material without much stretch AND seemed to be cut pretty small. I had to buy them, of course- £14.99 is a bargain, I’ve been looking for camo jeggings/leggings for ages, and I have to use my student discount whilst I’ve got it 😉 I also bought a lovely grey vest with skull studs, but seem to be having a hard time finding it on the website to show you all! The boyfriend cardigan came from Peacocks- it’s a lovely dark grey colour, but as Peacocks don’t have an online store at present, you’ll have to wait for a photo. I might wear it tomorrow, so you may be in luck!

We also had a bit of a spend in Boots. I FINALLY purchased some more Soap & Glory make up:

Super-Colour Fabulipstick in Guavarama, and

Lid Stuff eyeshadow mini-palette in Smokey Dokey. Since Boots currently has an offer of 3 for 2 across all make up (an offer that seems semi-permanent of late!) I also purchased a Lid Stuff mini-palette for my mum in Whats Nude. In thanks for this, she bought me this to get a free lip gloss with her purchase of Bad Gal mascara from the Benefit counter (!):

Benefit Sugarbomb! I love Benefit’s cheek/bronzing powders; I already own Bella Bamba and Dandelion. Incidentally, Dandelion was the shade of lip gloss my mum was given as her freebie:

It looks like a lovely, pearly pink gloss- possibly a little on the girly side for me, but I might give it a try!

There are a number of things I saw today that will be going on my Christmas list… or that I might buy in the next day or so if I’m bored and can’t control myself! I made a little money on Amazon in the past couple of weeks, so I will be able to afford it if I choose to do so.
