Daily Look #1

So today, I wanted to rock a bit of an understated ‘goth’ look. I dread to venture into ‘hipster’ territory, but you definitely could accuse me of that if you tried hard enough. I’m not sure why you’d want to, though. I just like to think of my basic style, when I’m not wearing merely a band t-shirt/pants combo, as understated/trad goth, 80’s style. I think most goths that stay ‘gothy’ have this sort of thing going on, once they grow out of the bondage pants and zipped corset-style tops thing.

So, yes. Onto the look!

I’m not sure I’m 100% keen on the way I look in this photo- very lumpy and bumpy and rolly, but there’s not much I can do about that. The black jumper I got from a charity shop, I have absolutely no idea what label it is, but I am sure it’s actually a man’s jumper. The black leggings with white cross motif are from New Look, £12.99 and from size 6-18. On my wrist is a studded leather bracelet from New Look, £3.50, and a black and white skull and silver rose beaded bracelet from Claire’s Accessories; I have no recollection of how much that cost me, but I think it was around/less than £4. I’m also wearing my artisan crafted Mjolnir pendant, on a leather thong, that I bought from a Viking crafter who has a stall at Bloodstock Open Air Festival each year. You can’t see, but I am wearing a small skull necklace from Claire’s as well. On ma feet were these babies, http://www.newlook.com/shop/shoe-gallery/view-all-shoes/black-studded-loiter-brothel-creepers-_260185801, which are some of the best shoes I’ve ever bought. £28 well spent!

Make up wise, it was simple today, so I won’t post a picture. I was planning on visiting the eyebrow bar (which I did) so I didn’t want anything that would smudge too easily. I used my Urban Decay Surreal cream to powder foundation in Illusion, with a translucent Collection 2000 powder over the top to mattefy and a sweep of Natural Collection bronzer. On my cheeks, I blended Benefit Bella Bamba and Soap & Glory Love at First Blush, whereas my eyes was Benefit Bad Gal liner on the bottom, with a slick of Boots No 17 Make Your Mark soft eye liner pen on the top lid and a quick sweep of the light taupey colour from Sleek’s Au Naturel iDivine pallette. Simple, natural, a bit rock chicky. Kinda my make up MO!
